Building Use & Ethos Statement

Ullet Road Church is an inclusive, liberal spiritual community within the Unitarian tradition.
Our building is not a neutral venue but a living expression of the congregation’s values, worship, and community life.

We affirm the full dignity and equality of all people, including those of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions. LGBTQ+ people are welcomed, celebrated, and fully included in the life and ministry of this church.

We welcome a wide range of community, cultural, educational, and reflective activities that are compatible with our ethos of openness, respect, inclusion, and freedom of belief. The church has long served as a place of gathering, creativity, learning, and compassionate community.

Because the building carries the identity and values of the congregation, we do not hire our spaces for activities or religious services that conflict with our inclusive and liberal principles. This includes events or worship that promote exclusion, discrimination, or theological positions that deny the equality and worth of LGBTQ+ people or other groups.

All hire requests are considered in light of this ethos, alongside practical considerations of suitability, safeguarding, and use of space. Ullet Road Church therefore reserves the right to decline bookings that are not aligned with the character and values of the community.

We are always pleased to explore how our spaces may support activities that contribute positively to the wellbeing, creativity, and shared life of the wider community.
