Sunday Service

Our services can be wide ranging in belief, practice and feel, but we seek to include people from all walks of life and experiences.

Sunday Service Image

We often build upon a Christian-style service with hymns, readings, prayers, and a Reflection, but we draw from many traditions, seeking inspiration from different religions and philosophies. We mark the start of worship with the lighting of a chalice and people are invited to share an event of the past week that has been joyful or challenging.

We seek to provide a space where people can come as they are, without feeling pressured to participate beyond their own level of comfort. We want to be a place where you can come, without regard to age, sex, sexual orientation, gender, or any other identity one may hold. After the service you are welcome to join the minister in the library for refreshments.

The Sunday Service has a strong Sunday School (otherwise known as the Rainbow Rebels) programme, we employ three Sunday School facilitators. The children explore poetry, music, and drama. Also, the children are given opportunities to explore social issues and injustices.

Sunday Services are held at 11am

Day of the Dead: Celebrating Lives with Colour and Joy

Join us for a special Day of the Dead service as we embrace the vibrant Mexican tradition of remembering and celebrating the lives of our departed loved ones. We invite each attendee to bring a photograph of their loved ones to place on a dedicated shrine in the sanctuary, creating a collective tapestry of memories that honours those who have passed. Together, we will reflect on the joyous legacies and enduring spirits of our ancestors.

Christmas Memorial Service: A Star to remind of our loved ones

As we remember and honour those who are no longer with us. This serene service includes a special ritual where members of the congregation are invited to write the name of a loved one on a star. These stars will then be lovingly placed on our Christmas Tree, creating a visible and heartfelt tribute within our sanctuary. As we gather, we reflect on the continuing presence of these loved ones in our lives, illuminating our hearts like the stars on our tree.

End of Year Reflections: Looking Back, Moving Forward

One of the illusions of life is that the present hour is not the critical, decisive hour. Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year. No man has learned anything rightly, until he knows that every day is Doomsday. - Ralph Waldo Emerson
