Brigitta Brown

Brigitta Brown (born in Austria, in 1977) started playing the pipe organ at the age of 15 in her home town Bad Voeslau in Austria, her first teacher was Gerhard Baumgartner. Another mentor she holds in high regard was Albert Muelleder.

From 1996 she studied church music at the university for music and performing arts in Vienna in the organ class of Peter Planyavsky, passing her diploma in 2000. She then took a long break from playing the organ while she was performing with the Arnold Schoenberg Chor and also working as musical director for local Austrian choirs.

In 2016 she moved to the UK and rediscovered her love for playing keyboard instruments, which now includes experimenting on synthesizers and joining psychedelic jams as much as playing classical music.

Some of her favourite composers are J S Bach, and A Bruckner amongst many others, but also more contemporary artists like Arvo Pärt, Weather Report, and Radiohead. And, of course, Erasure!
