On Saturday, 2nd September 2023, beneath a radiant sun, friends and family gathered, expecting a traditional wedding ceremony for the union of Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose. They could not have anticipated the delightful twists that awaited them.

The day began serenely, with Pachelbel's Canon in D gracing the processional and the soulful hymn, "How Great Thou Art", setting the tone of reverence. Every detail seemed in place for a classic, time-honored ceremony. But as the pages of the wedding program turned, the unexpected unfolded.

Following the third reading, the renowned "On Marriage" by Kahlil Gibran, delivered by Rev. Phil Waldron, the atmosphere began to shift. In an unexpected departure from tradition, Rev. Phil, without any accompaniment, began to melodiously sing "Can't Take My Eyes off You". Initial surprise from the congregation quickly gave way to joy as a full brass band secretly entered from the back, erupting into the chorus. What might have been a quiet, reflective moment transformed into a jubilant dance party, with attendees of all ages spontaneously rising from their seats to revel in the joyous occasion.

However, the surprises didn't stop there. Before the declaration of marriage, in a touching segment dubbed "The Last Kiss Before the First Kiss", Rev. Phil called both mothers to the chancel. Here, in an emotion-charged moment, they blessed the union by bestowing the final kiss upon their children before their first kiss as a wedded couple. This symbolic gesture was a poignant reminder of the two lives merging, nurtured by love and family ties.

During the formal signing of the Marriage Schedule, the brass band took center stage once more, entertaining guests with soulful tunes. As the newlyweds prepared to make their exit, Rev. Phil rallied the congregation to rise and cheer. The notes of Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" filled the air, encapsulating the essence of the day — one of unexpected delight, love, and boundless joy.

Witnesses to the wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose can attest: sometimes, it's the most unconventional moments that create the most unforgettable memories.
