Rolling in the Chickpeas: A Culinary Adventure at the Ullet Road Church

On Sunday 30th April 2023, the Rev. Phil dared to embark on a gastronomic expedition, boldly venturing into the realm of Chickpea Curry and Rice, leaving his trusty Spicy Bean, Tomato, and Spinach Soup behind for a day. Like a culinary Columbus, he set sail on a voyage of discovery, guided by the wisdom of Viki, our intrepid church administrator, and her trusty recipe.

The congregation gathered with bated breath, their palates primed for the daring flavors that awaited them. And while the rice might have been slightly stodgier than intended (the congregation was divided – was it a daring new fusion or a happy accident?), the curry sauce's flavors leaped to the rescue, swooping in like a superpowered superhero to break up the clumps and save the day.

Undeterred by this minor hiccup, Rev. Phil has vowed to perfect the Chickpea Curry recipe for the next congregational lunch. But, of course, he can't do it alone! Your desserts and homemade cakes are desperately needed to sweeten the deal and transform our next lunch into a true feast. So channel your inner Mary Berry or Gordon Ramsay and whip up your finest creations!
