On Sunday 31st July, it was Pride in the AM and Pride in the PM!

It was a colourful, vibrant and emotional service for the Pride Service at Ullet Road Church. The church had the privilege of having the LGBT choir singing ABBA Medley, This is Me a song from the hit musical The Greatest Showman and the wonderful song by The Beatles Let it be...

That was not enough for the Congregation, they also sung songs not traditionally sung during the service, Wake Me Up Before You Go Go, YMCA and Don't Stop Me Now!
The service chalice lighting and opening words were delivered by Caroline Shipton. The children's story, about a Rainbow Rocket was narrated and told by the very colourful Eve... the Songs were led by the equally colourful Franki.

The reflections explored the continuing fight for equality, and to listen to our inner voice...
The service ended with the Choir Singing Let It Be and with our Rainbow Rebels joining the church community joining in with song and waving Rainbow Flags... there were tears.
There was a delightful moment when the Minister and Organist sung a duet on the piano. Singing the classic, Rainbow Connection.

Birgitta, the organist, show her versility by playing classic songs on the organ. The Service ended with everyone celebrating with wonderful food. The minister made his spicy bean soup, and Ruth made a beautiful beef bourguignon...

Numbers that attended was over 90... a lovely service to end for the church closing for their Summer Break.

The Church will reopen for Sunday Services on Sunday 4th September 2022, 11am.
