On the Shores of the Wirral...

22 Jul 2022
We gathered on the North West peninsula of the Wirral, friends of Amanda and members of Ullet Road Church gathered to witness the Rev. Phil and Amanda enter the River Dee.
The service began with the Rev. Phil explaining that a comparison of John baptising Jesus on the shores of Galilee was that John was humbled. Our minister was humbled and found it a great privilage to baptise Amanda is such a unique way, especially for a Unitarian Minister.
The Baptism was in the spirit of Jesus, a connection to nature and the universe. By our intent the water became a sacred body, a full immersion into that which connects us all, to that which gives life was brought to Amanda in a deeply spiritual act.
Chanting, prayers and a blessing to all those in attendance was given. Afterwards, those in attendance had a picnic looking across the River Dee, with the Welsh Mountains on the horizon. Simply a beautiful evening.
