Christmas Day with Liverpool Care Leavers

Christmas Day with Liverpool Care Leavers

17 Jan 2023

On Christmas Day the Rev. Phil Waldron and Viki Goulden opened the church for a charity called Liverpool Care Leavers Christmas Dinner. Volunteers gave their time on Christmas day to help and support individuals who have left the care system. The aim is to create a day to remember for care leavers in Liverpool - part of the UK Christmas Dinners for Care Leavers project. Many of the young people are living alone and have little or no family support so Christmas can often be isolating and distressing for them. The aim is to create a day to remember, to make new, joyful memories of Christmas, which they may not have experienced before. It will be a community event and a chance to show Care Leavers that they are respected and add to their sense of belonging.
