A very talented congregation at Ullet Road Church

On Friday, December 1st, 2023, at Ullet Road Church, an exceptionally talented congregation graced the stage and delighted the audience with a mesmerizing performance encompassing song, music, and poetry. The evening was further enriched by a delightful interval featuring Mulled Wine and Mince Pies, setting the perfect tone for the festive season.

Throughout the evening, there were numerous standout moments that left a lasting impression. Jasmin's exquisite violin performance filled the air with beautiful melodies, while Helen's enchanting flute playing added a magical touch. Rod and Viki's soulful rendition of folk music transported us to a world of earthy music. Caroline's versatile vocal talent shone as she sang a wide range of pieces, from classics to the mesmerizing works of Ivor Novello. A particularly memorable highlight was the wonderful duet between Caroline and Viki, as they beautifully harmonized to perform "Amazing Grace."

One enchanting moment during the event was when Kate captivated the audience with her recitation of sublime poetry, accompanied by the gentle notes of a piano. Her performance served as an inspiring example of how readings can be brought to life in the future.

As the event drew to a close, our guests joined together to sing one of our cherished hymns from the purple hymn book, "Flying Free." Clare, who masterfully hosted the event with her infectious enthusiasm, added an extra layer of joy to the evening. Special recognition goes to Brigitta, whose piano performance featured original music composed by our very own Sue Ironfield.

We must extend our deepest gratitude to Brigitta, our church organist, who, alongside Caroline, organized this delightful event. It is through the dedication and passion of individuals like them that we were able to experience this evening of enchanting song, captivating music, and inspiring poetry.
