The 9-year conflict in Yemen is the humanitarian crisis the world forgot. War damage and destruction, and the resulting loss of services, infrastructure, famine, and disease spread, have left a country ravaged by war. To listen to our news, you'd hardly know it was happening.

Raising funds through people-powered solidarity (Habibti Liverpool) your ticket money goes directly to the only centre in the entire country with a functioning Paediatric Intensive Care Unit providing vital life-saving services for vulnerable babies and children. Funds will be spent on feeding and transporting the unpaid nurses and doctors, and on food, medicines, and occasionally, equipment for patients.

This evening was very special, with beautiful heartfelt music, lanterns, and conversation with professor Sally Theobald, Liverpool Tropical School of Medicine, and Sab Ahmed the founders of the charity. They talked extensively about the conflict, the lack of media coverage, what the money contributes towards, and importantly how we, the audience, can continue to support such a noble and compassionate cause. The church was lit with beautiful lanterns from The Lantern Company and the Music was performed by Loris and the Lion. The evening was opened by the Rev. Phil Waldron, who gave readings of peace and hope. Ullet Road Church hosted and supported the event.

The evening ended with Yemenis' traditional drink, a mulled fruit juice that was a real delight.
