Theology for Religious Seekers

Join us on July 28th for an enlightening lecture by Hans le Grand at the Ullet Road Unitarian Church.

Hans, a Netherlands native, has an impressive background in both physics and financial economy, but his current pursuit is in theology. Having dedicated the last five years to his PhD in theology, he hopes to defend his thesis this autumn.

Hans is focusing his research on the construction of a theology for religious seekers. These are individuals who draw inspiration from a plethora of religious traditions without adhering exclusively to any one faith. This concept resonates with many Unitarians and those interested in exploring spirituality outside a traditional church structure.

Hans is striving to answer the crucial questions, "What do religious seekers believe?" and "Why?" This fresh perspective could establish the first-ever systematic theology for religious seekers, making it a potential framework for Unitarian systematic theology.

Guided by respected scholars Chris Doude van Troostwijk (Free University of Amsterdam), Marianne Moyaert (Catholic University of Leuven), and Dan McKanan (Harvard Divinity School), his research has also been endorsed by Yale professor Mark Heim.

We warmly invite you to join Hans and his two children on this special day at our church. Let's seize this unique opportunity to engage with a thought leader who is set to reshape the theological landscape.
