Liverpool based saxophonist Bob Whittaker (Blindmonk, Secret Improvisers Club, Marley Chingus...) debuts a fresh new trio featuring Alex McDowall (The Deportees, Jubilee Stompers... ) on guitar/ effects and Johnny Hunter (Revival Room, Sloth Racket, Nat Birchall.... ) on drums.

Expect an emotive performance of new arrangements and original compositions influenced by the great pioneers of spiritual jazz and contemporary European improvised music.

RACHAEL JEAN HARRIS

Liverpool-born Rachael Jean Harris has carved out a highly individual sound which melds folk, jazz and indie. With songs that speak to the raw edges of existence, Rachael Jean Harris takes inspiration from thoughtful songwriters like Kate Bush, PJ Harvey and Esperanza Spalding. "Wildly original songwriting." ROSIE TERRY

Contemporary choreographer Rosie Terry will perform a unique dance piece to music as part of the evening. Rosie has performed and collaborated with Jérôme Bel, Joss Arnott, Nina Kov as well as numerous musicians and filmmakers. She is currently working with Zurich based Simon Fleury on ‘Topia, A Predicament’ and continues to teach and work in Liverpool as ‘Studio Fluid’.

LUCE MAWDLSEY

Luce Mawdsley (Mésange, Cavalier Song)is a neurodivergent non-binary composer and guitarist from the west coast of Merseyside. Augmented by Nicholas Branton and Rachel Nicholas, the trio will present a set of new works integrating folk and jazz traditions into Mawdsley’s boreal explorations of queerness and psychological dislocation.
